Dear Experts,
Here is what my bedroom wall looked like until a couple of weeks ago:
And this is what it looks loke now that I’ve removed the plasterboard. I’m rebuilding the studwork with insulation in it.
Previously the radiator was on the wall to the left, well away from the outside wall. I don’t know why it was put there; the conventional thing would surely to put it on the external wall below the windows and that’s what I plan to do as I rebuild.
But I’m unsure what shape & style radiator to put there and what to do about the curtains. Note that the two window ledges are at dofferent heights. Previously there were floor-length curtains. One thing to do would be to shorten the curtains to window-ledge length, well above the top of the rad, but that would look very odd with the different heights. So I’ve considered a shelf above the rad, below both ledges, with curtains down to that. Is that a sensible idea?
I think I need about a 2kW rad, e.g. double panel 500 x 1200. Which is much less wide than both windows. So should I have something much lower, taking up more of the width?
I am suffering indecision. What would you do in that space?
