Engineer reccomendind Centrebrand (Honeywell) programmer

I've just has an Intergas ECO 36 fitted and the installer has recommended a
Plumbcentre programmer to control it.

It's a Honeywell with Plumbcentres own logo on it.

Would you recommend the same? I have no clue, my previous Worcester has a 24 hour (23.5hour really) mechanical clock so that's all I know.

I'm not bothered about turning it on when I'm in Aldi, I'm after something reliable and simple.

It gives you modulating setpoint without optimisation. For the money it is good value if you don't want all the bends and whistles.

Are any able to show the boiler pressure? I probably don't need to be able to see it constantly but it's the only thing the Worcester ever needed apart from a gas valve.

If you want to see the boiler pressure from anywhere then you need the Intergas Intouch controller

My missus has been into the local plumbers merchant and got their version of the Honeywell. They knew the Plumbcentre one and this is the same with a different badge again.

The Intouch does look good, maybe something for the future, thanks

Assuming it is the same as the Dumbcentre version make sure the stat is bound directly to the boiler as opposed to using a BDR (box on the wall) or it will run the boiler in on/off mode.

Personally I'd have to say that it's a total waste not to control the boiler using a modulating system such as Opentherm

You have lost me there. Is Opentherm a bit like using Cruise Control rather than accelerating upto 70, dropping to 50 then accelerating to 70 over and over?

Between those times is more like adaptive cruise control.

If it binds directly to the boiler it won't be on/off Muggley one. As Dan said it will modulate the flow temp but without optimisation or some of the fancier algorithms the CM927 is good for
