Is curing patients a sustainable business model?

What about auto-immune diseases? Genetic disorders etc. You make claims and back them up with nothing other than what you see. You have proven time and again you are wrong.

As to the NHS listing people for an organ. WHAT THE F UCK DO YOU KNOW. I have a good friend who is a transplant surgeon - actually a professor and the way they allocate organs is not by whim or chance. They have MDT's with an array of specialists as they know the value of an organ. Please GO F yourself you ****. The sad stories he has to tell. Sure there are people who have destroyed their liver through drinking but drink was the tool of their destruction the cause was either losing work, family etc.

I don't usually get worked up but f ukin idiots like yourself should feel ashamed, these are peoples lives.

So at least you acknowledge I'm right about people doing it to themselves. Nobody forced that guy in your example to drink his liver to death. Or a fat person to eat themselves to death. Lung cancer, maybe, yes, because the air in the cities is so appaulingly bad but still that doesn't give them an exuse to chain smoke ciggies.

Being the social justice warrior that you are you see everyone as a victim and with compassion. Sometimes compassion is misplaced and there should be hard lessons instead.

Furthermore I have quite a few skin problems which are autoimmune in nature and I've been diagnosed. They've found substantial evidence that autoimmune disease is related to gut health. Gut health can be harmed by antibiotics, stress, crap diet, multiple factors. I've got one or two of my skin problems since childhood but others have developed. I take my health seriously because if I didn't I would fall apart mentally / emotionally. Also, apparently, breastfeeding is incredibly important for setting up a babies immunity in later life. My mum admits I was not breastfed for very long before moving on to formula. I wish I could stuff my face with sh1t and slobber around moaning about it. But I actually look after myself and still I'm cursed with autoimmune issues. So don't preach to me about it.

I've next to no sympathy for people that are otherwise healthy but make the choice not to be. There are people like me who have always looked after themselves but they face problems in spite of that.

Social justice Warrior - well done. You clueless dolt.

So all these self induced problems? In that case we should charge footballers getting injured playing Sunday league? Its an alluring notion that people should be responsible for all their health conditions - but it breaks down with even a modicum of analysis but the notion itself entertains those who cannot think past their own self.

But the best part of your dumb argument is that the people who use the NHS most are those over 50 - old age effects everyone - cataracts, arthritis, prostate, menopause etc - no matter how fit they are.

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder that you were dealt with auto immmune problems but are you thankful with the way the NHS is structured that you benefited from the service?

In that case I should be royally peeved off as I have used the NHS about two times in my life. But I do realise as I get older I will call on it more.

Not all of them but quite a few of them.
Fact is a lot of people in the UK don't get enough exercise and treat their bodies as garbage containers. End result is health issues.
That someone else has to pick up the tab for.

People do need to exercise more but using your logic that other people pick up the tab. NOW WHAT IS INSURANCE? You drive? You have a car, you are picking up the tab of other people.

Hold on where did I mention age ? Older people are naturally going to need the NHS I don't blame them for that, unless of course they fall into the bracket of not giving a fukc about their health in which case they can join the other group.

Many countries benefit from older generations that age well, Iceland being a good example, as well as Japan.

I'm not thankful the way the NHS is structured , I certainly don't think lack of money is it's problem. I've never benefited from the service, besides the diagnosis which I used to do my own research with, and it took years of dealing with idiots before I got it. Every single aspect of the NHS besides this one thing was a complete waste of tax payers money. I've been private a few times out of total frustration. No better. Still I deal with my problems completely on my own with no support besides *drum roll* the internet.

Essentially who caused my problems ? My parents decisions. My decisions. It's damage control. If someone sits all day eating pies snd chips because they were bullied at school you think they are justified in asking for benefits and a 20 grand mobility scooter; on about 3-4-5 different drugs for blood pressure, and painkillers, and god only knows what else?

Big pharma is a profit industry. It won't spend money on cures or treatments unless they bring in huge bucks. People that don't benefit have to struggle on their own, or worse, they die. If you have a treatment they can treat, god help you. Look forward to unecessary and experimental drugs that create further complications, and then more drugs and treatments to deal with the side effects of the other side effects. Cured? Lucky lucky you.

Japan and Iceland have different cultures and societies to ours. Look at how through a public awareness campaign and changes in the way we offer services we cut teenage pregnancies in half over two decades. The most effective or best bang for your buck at improving a nations health is public awareness campaigns.

You seem to think the whole country is full of obese people. There are many people who are obese and it is one of the health problems affluent countries face. No one is disputing that it is a concern for the country and people are being encouraged to exercise more and eat healthier and part of this is from the government and part of this has to be upto the individual.

You seem to be a tad mysanthropic, I would say don't underestimate your fellow citizen. Your just dont seem to be able to see past your solipsistic world view.

Its easy, and understandable to take that view.

However, it doesnt actually solve anything. It isnt realistic to say: your fat, or drink too much you wont get treated. We cant do that

I would say obesity is a cultural thing, possibly driven by cynical business.

Look at comparing the diet of the UK to say Portugal, there is a huge difference in the percentage of processed foods in our diet to theirs.

Difficult to justify ignorance when just about everyone in the UK now has access to information. We know that diabetes, for example, is an autoimmune disease. Overeating and food choices cause it. You could say some people have more of a genetic propensity to develop it but that doesn't mean they shouldn't eat healthy. If we had the same diet of the earlier 19th century it would eliminate most of the diseases commonly being treated today, if not eliminate them make them almost unheard of.

Most people know the difference between good and bad food but they chose the bad stuff. Some people are stupid though and they might stand to benefit from a government health campaign. Thats to be likely a tiny tiny minority.

I think we should make fat people feel bad about themselves. Let's stop encouraging them in feeling good about being a disgusting fat blob.
