Outside Drains smelling / Need Cleaning

Hello

I am looking at getting my outside drains cleaned as in the summer they are stinking.
When I have a shower or run any of the taps after about a minute the water runs down the waste water pipe into the gutter at the side of the house. This gutter looks like a bog and smells. A previous plumber said it needs to be cleaned ..is this a job I can do?

The odd thing is that if I go out in the garden and smell the drain it doesen't smell.
It's only after I have a shower the bad smells come in the house..

Gutter? Do you mean gully, a thing with a grid on that holds water.

That should stop any smells, could your waste pipes be full of smelly stuff and your shower water disturbs it?

I think I would put up with the stench from whatever dead thing is in the drain rather than the stench of Jeye's Fluid.

I love the smell of Jeyes's fluid but I also like the smell of the money my jetter gets for me.
