What are these?

I went into the shed in the garden. It is quite damp and cold these days, as it is not wind and water tight plus it has a hole on the floor, which is soil.

I have loads of tools in the shed, and one of these fabric covers for something was on the tools box. And I found something on it, which look like droppings? They are black colour and size of long grain rice. What are they?

Argggghhh. What should I do about this?
Have they been always there? This is the first time I have come to this situation.

Maybe I must go and get some mouse poison and traps from Screwfix, and put them in the shed?
Any danger they might even come to the house?

Somewhere in a quiet corner,box or drawer you may find a cosy little nest consisting of chewed paper,gloves ,string etc which if left too long will stink

I am glad that I was wearing gloves when lifting the fabric, and binned it.
But there is no paper, no boxes which might attract the nest in the shed. Just tools, lots of rusty old tools.

What I will do is,

I will power on 5x ultra sound sonic pest repellent from the mains in the shed.
I will place heavy tool box on the hole of the shed floor.
I will burn some citrus incense in the shed.

And see how it will go.

Looks like you've pretty well thought of of everything.............except for the hand grenades !

Powered on 7x ultra sonic pest repellent total in the shed. These were back in the days when our daughters were living in the house, they hated spiders in the house, and every room in the house had one of these running. Now they are living by themselves, all these repellents were taken out from the rooms, and now all of them 7x in total are plugged in the shed.

Burnt incense too. But I didn't see point in blocking the hole on the floor, because the shed is so old, it has small holes in all corners and walls.
