Site box for garage

Surely there's also the time to consider? At the start of each day you go and pick up the hired tool, and at the end, you go and return it.

So that takes up your time, and your working hours are constrained by the opening times of the hire company. If their nearest depot is some distance from the job you can't start off on the journey at the crack of, nor leave off returning until you've done a full day.

Interesting point. I hardly ever use my chop saw. But hiring isn't cheap. For example if I wanted a breaker it's over £40 to hire but to buy £160. So use it for four days and you've got your money back. I know what u mean though one break in and I lose the lot

I needed a breaker, bought a cheap one online, cost less than it would have to hire one of the same weight.

This site chest is 100 kg-

But the biggest and heaviest is 150kg-

Maybe the first one is light enough for myself and one other bloke to move it however the 150kg one is too heavy. Both would put thieves off with the weight I reckon, as they try and walk a long way with it. I would put a chain round it as well.

I want to go somewhere where they're kept and try it out before I pay all this money.

Look for one second hand. You'll get one for half the new price if you look about.

I have 3 and the most I paid for any one of them was £25 for a replacement set of keys from the manufacturer but it's not every day you find people giving them away because they can't open them.

As for stopping them moving it, bolt it directly to the floor from the inside using some M12 allthread rod.

Where would I look to find a second hand one? Gumtree?

The head office is in Fareham, an hr from me so might drive up there and try the biggest 3.

I just want peace of mind with tools. I guess the biggest two won't be moved easily lol could be a pain for me to move them around in my messy garage lol

Out of the two biggest ones (I put links to) the heavier one has thicker metal but I don't think that's an issue for me. They have to be quiet in my garage as its next to flats. So thick metal is only good if the thieves are using an angle grinder which they won't where I live. They'll try and carry it off or use bolt cutters
