I know it's perhaps personal choice but I found Crown a bit "plasticy" for my liking. I have a Dulux trade supplier 10 mins from me, when a customer wants a paint I go in they mix it and I am on my way. If you start shopping around DIY stores often as not the one you want is out of stock and to save a few bob you end up driving around several places. Trade certainly beats DIY for coverage, when a customer supplied paint it often needed an extra coat, that's time to me. You can thin trade if it suits you or the surface although I usually used it as supplied. Zinsser products are good too.
I do feel Trade paints in IY stores are a bit suspect, the only time I trouble with Dulux Trade it was from them, maybe they don't store it well or they get a "special priced" batch from the supplier.

for professional use buy only from a trade decorating shop. DIY shed paint is formulated down to a price.
my local pro shop reckons Johnstones paint is pretty good
Dulux trade is a common paint for pros
And Zinnsser
you will get clients asking for Farrow and Ball..........
When I started as a Painter and Decorator 33 years ago, it was mostly Permoglaze, then Dulux, then Crown, but new paints are coming on the market now ie Tikkurilla and as for farrow and ball its sooo expensive and most of the times you have to give it 3 coats.
It all depends on the client, Johnstones, Leyland, Albany, Mcphersons, average prize, Crown dearer, Dulux dearer still.
A good tip if you haven't already done so join twitter and follow other painters and decorators and paint companies and you will be in the know all the time.

I used Crown Trade emulsion last year. It was awful. Although the tins were mixed in the Brentford Crown Trade centre the white in the lid had at some point become gloopy and slid into the tin.
As I was rolling the walls I kept finding tiny, tiny lumps of white paint.
I did mention it to the staff at the shop, they just shrugged.
For the rest of the client's house I went back to using Dulux Trade
