Electric Oven Not Working Fan/Element changed

Hi all,

I have a Leisure CMCF 96X Range style oven, the main multi function oven stopped working the other day, the fan had been struggling for a while & the missus said there was a crackling sound then it stopped working, I took the fan motor off & it was completely done for, also the element had blown, I have replaced both parts but it still does not work, the clock/programmer does not work but the electric oven next to it does work so I am not sure what to check next, any idea's ??

On our Stoves range the bog standard non-fan non-timer oven works without a functioning clock, but the fan oven which can be set for cooking times etc doesn’t.
My money is on you needing a new clock/timer.

As alan333 said if clock not working I doubt very much oven would work. My clock failed last year and stopped my oven from working.

Is there a thermal fuse mounted on top of the oven cavity & have you checked it for continuity?

I'd go with this as the fault

So far I have replaced the main oven: thermal fuse, fan motor & element, still the cooling fan does not work (for the main oven) so i'm guessing that needs replaced too, also today the element has gone on the side/tall oven !!!!!
Had this 5 years, it had been fine until recently.

No expert - but the cooling fan function is critical for safe and correct operation, and if it failed may be the root cause.

it didn't fail originally, to start with the main oven fan was sticking, im guessing the lead to all the other failures in the end, fan motor blowing, element blowing, thermal fuse etc.

Cooling fan works for side/tall oven still, i've got the back off now & cant see one for the main oven anywhere.

Hi all,

I have a Leisure CMCF 96X Range about 5 years old, the fan on the main oven had been sticking for a while, one day it made a pop noise & nothing worked so i replaced the fan motor & element still nothing worked, then after some advice on here i replaced the thermal cut out fuse, this got the timer/clock display working again & the oven now works..... but the cooling fan does not.
Does anybody know if there is any other sort of fuse or temperature regulator that might affewct the cooling fan, I doubt the cooling fan has actually broke, more likely something the dictates the operation of it, Ta.

It seems that function switch failures are fairly common - in fact I have one to do when we get back home. I think they are a fairly standfard part across many cookers, and are a fairly simple cam switch. When they are on the way out, the function switching gets to be "crackly" and unreliable.
Apart from this, troubleshooting is really a case of working methodically and testing things - the wiring isn't complicated (until you get to some of the newer models with fancy modes & programs).

All sorted, I wasnt letting the main oven get hot enough when testing it, cooling fan comes on after 150 deg.
