Meaningful vote No3

If leaving the EU is such a good idea, and what the people want, and will set us up for a glorious long-term future of ambitious trade deals and enhanced sovereignty, then set against that what is so wrong with delaying by a comparatively trivial amount of time (a few percent of the time it will take to start to actually realise the benefits of that long-term future) in order to make sure we get it right?

It does make a complete mockery of the democratic process.
Suppose a politician wanted to repeat a referendum until they get the result they want. Or delay the referendum for a few days until they think they can get the result that they want.
That's not democracy, that is unprincipled exploitation and manoeuvring of the control of the day's business.

The EU have already definitively stated that there is no chance of reopening negotiations on Mrs May’s deal, meaning that any “substantial changes” remain extremely unlikely – especially not before the March 29th Brexit deadline.

Some sources say that if Theresa isn't allowed to keep asking the same question until Parliament gives the "right" answer, a General Election draws nearer.

Somebody will knife her in the back and sieze her job as boss of the tories.
Will it be Pob?

Rupert Murdoch's preferred choice.

And he's the one that gets to decide.

She's looking like a dead duck anyway.

Most popular candidate for next leader of the Tory party, with massive lead over the others:

None of the above: 29%

If the EU were going to be happy with granting a short extension, for some specific purpose, they are highly unlikely to grant that short extension for no particular purpose, especially as the UK will still be in no position to decide what it wants.

So the possibility of a long extension, or no extension at all has increased.

I was astounded by the Solicitor General's comment, "it puts more pressure on the EU to make more compromises"
WTF!
What cloud cuckoo land are they in?

you would think they had better things to do then grizzle about bent nanas

The EU has

But anti-EU propagandists haven't

Did you know some of the Brexers went for a walk?

They started at the place where the bus set them down, and finished at the place where the bus picked them up.

Walking between bus-stops isn't much of a march.

It is if some of them go backwards. It's quite hard marching backwards.
It's easy pedaling backwards, ask notch, sodthisforfun, ELFImpudence, Vinty, et al.

Were those pictures before or after the referendum?

The bottom one is of all the remain voters heading to the polling station.

Unfortunately, not enough of them went to out number the leave voters.

:(
