I have a window in shower room but want to put in a new shower that will partly cover window. Can I leave window in place and just cover inside so if in future I want to have window back in use I can remove cover.

Yes.

Cover with a board that is painted matt black on side facing window -from outside you would hardly notice.

And to prove the point, the previous owners did this (and really quite badly once you'd noticed) and it took us WEEKS into out renovation to notice. Never came up in any surveys or anything, and everyone was amazed when we realised.
