Shower tray gap due to wall not being square

I’m in some desperate need for help please.
I’ve retiled the shower enclosure corner and the wall is hugely out (not square). I couldn’t solve in tiling as my tiles are running along the existing tiles on the remainder of the wall.

My shower tray is almost 5cm away at the furthest corner

I can’t cut into the wall any further. I’ve left the first row of tiles (on shower tray) as my last task as I started tiling at row 2.

Looking for a way out. Thanks in advance

Are you able to take a photo? You might need to fit a special shower board/aqua board to overcome issue. Then tile onto that.

Edit: just re-read after Madrabs post, 5cm, that’s quite big. Might still get it with aqua board, obviously losing a fraction of the enclosure.

That's not going to be the easiest to fix without either building out the wall or cutting a channel into the wall to allow the tray to sit tighter to the corner.

If you can balance the gap over a longer area, you might get it to 25mm but that's not easy to explain how to do, you're kinda trying to move the tray about to make the gap narrower but may be over a longer length along the tray edges.

What about using bath/shower trim on top of tray, and even out space both sides.

Any movement on the tray? I’m just wondering if it’s possible to manoeuvre until the gap is similar so you can tile up to tray?

I’m looking at that picture again and wondering if it might be possible to cut into the wall and try and squeeze the far corner in. How much of the wall am I allowed to chip into?

Also, do further issues await me with fitting the enclosure?

How is the plasterboard attached to the wall? If you cut the board off how much does that give you? Cut the right hand section of the plasterboard out level with the top of the tray and then fit the tray underneath. Just make sure the tray is well sealed on both edges fully against the wall and then fill along the top edges before tiling, to avoid any leaks. Worst case, cut both sides and fit tray under.

Tile and adhesive should give you approx 15mm, so you need to get the tray into the wall by say 25mm then square the tray up so the gap is the same both sides/corners. As long as you can get the gap down enough so the tile covers it, then you're ok.

It's going to take some jigging about but you should be able to get there.

Just remember to leave that internal corner free of grout and use silicone instead

Looks good to me, but if it's not too late and you have the room I would seriously think about replacing that tiny quadrant with a decent size tray, something like an 800x1000 would be so much better.

It's all down to whether you and/or yours are happy with it, as it's you guys that will be in it every day.

If it was me tho, in that kind of space, I would have used smaller tiles and ran the centre line of the tiling up from the centre of the tray. I would also have considered stopping the tile at what will be the left edge of the enclosure, unless those tiles are to be ran further along the rest of the wall
