Concrete Booked - First Ever Pour - Final Words of Advice?

Well....that was a bit of a **** show all in all. Concrete pumping guys turned up 2 and half hours late and then managed to completely fluff getting the pump shut off and I reckon I'm a good solid 30-40mm over where I wanted to be. And being trench fill, I didn't have huge amounts to play with anyway. Managed to shovel a bit out, but doubt it made much of a dent in the grand scheme.

Oh well, see where it settles and fix forwards. Biggest concern is keeping the lintels for the drainage below ground.

Feeling a bit fed up if I'm honest, and slightly annoyed that the first big issue wasn't one created by me.

Gutted :(. Could you cut down some of those big foundation blocks to get back to the right level?

Sorry to hear that, but That's an interesting one, i assumed if they created the problem by not following the spec it would be their responsibility to put it right. Is that not the case?

Could be right JD but not sure I fancy his chances of winning that one.
Bit more messing about on the first few courses then it’ll be a distant memory.

They will just claim the customer went off-plan or summat.

You may just have to get creative with a bit of masonry cutting. The conc is reasonably easy to hack out the next day, should you wish to gouge out some drain channels through the concrete. We often do it either an hour after the pour or the next morning.
