Removing multi finish from wall

I removed the door frame from a hallway in our house and wanted it plastered over.

Now our (now ex) plasterer bonded the cavity flush to the surface, then proceeded to try and multifinish over this by tapering back either side of the vertical void back about 30cm.

When the sun hits this it looks sh't or i put a level across it rocks awful i can't stand it as the centre line all the way up the wall protrudes as a mound all the way up where the door frame once was!

Im going to try and cut it all back so i can get someone to do it properly. Any recommendations how i do this?
Cut slots across with angle grinder and chisel it all back (alot of dust and labour intensive)

Some sort of cheesegrater style course pad for sander (with vac) or something similar?

Cold chisel and lump hammer to remove the high bit sounds sufficient tbh...

Aggressively sand it back with a random orbital/leccy sander? Assuming it’s not mega thick if it’s multi finish
