As per title the mitred joint has "blown" idiot wife puts hot pans, lets things soak right on the joint, told her time and time again not to but she is just thick! is there anyway to repair the worktop, the "blown bit is approx 50mm long.

Any repair will probably break up as once the core gets damp it continues to expand very slowly .

I thought it will be un repairable, expensive worktops as well, just have to put wife under patio.

I've had massive rows with mine over doing the same thing. I sometimes wonder if it's their life's work to **** us men off.

Even if you fix it, what will stop your wife putting hot damp things on the repaired joint?
