I'm using 600x300 fibre slates on my roof and the measurements from one side of my roof to the other is coming out at 10180mm. That is from outer dry verges to outer dry verge on the other side. The dry verge is nailed onto the battens.

I'm trying to work out the measurements so I'm not nailing into the dry verge again when I'm nailing my slates to the battens or is this nailing through the dry verge again acceptable!

If I remember correctly, the dry verge sits on the battens 90mm. When working out the distance, the measurements work out ok however the holes in the slates sit in 20mm which is sending me through the dry verge. If I start from right to left, then next course left to right, this is where I lose it and end up through the verge!

Is there any way of working this out so I don't nail through the verge with these measurements I have.

Worst case if there's no other way around it, I could possibly nail through with a dab of silicone on the nail hole for piece of mind.

Someone mentioned 600x600 slate for the verge however our local suppliers don't stock these.

I'm using 2mm rivets and using 302mm when dividing my measurements.

I never have any problems with spacing any other times however because it's 10180mm, it's doing my nut in to say the least! The dry verge can't be moved to accommodate this.

I,m just about to strip a roof with those on and put real slate on because they are so poor! less than 25yrs old
Save yourself the hassle and use real slate.
The continuous dry verge that I have used sits below the batons.

Already paid for and opened :( I don't mind them TBH. It's just this headache I have now trying to work this out.

This is the type of dry verdge trim I'll be nailing through. Is it acceptable to nail through this again with the copper nails with slates.

Well if you don't want to nail into the dry verge then you could use some slate hooks at the verge.

All the dry verge I have used cup the slate at the edge to protect them from being blown off so why not just put two nails in one side if you don't want to use slate hooks.

Yes and this trim has this too however when I do my calculations, the half slate when nailing to the battens, the hole is over the trim. If the roof was 20mm more then I wouldn't have this problem :(
