It might be controlling some sort of electric heating. Those Sangamo clocks are rated 20 or 25amps, so be wary of recommending a lesser rated time control.
It is an old sangamo timer for a gas or oil boiler not Electric
Just googled them and still expensive!!
I just want something more manageable for programming different times for block days ie Mon to Fri and Sat to Sun if you know what I mean!
A reasonable guess, but the OP has yet to make that completely clear..
there are loads of cheap ones on the market, any single channel timeswitch will do, as long as it can handle 240v switching nearly all do
It's on a oil central heating gravity HW system
Look again at the pic of the timer and see if you can work out how I know it is not for electric
