Can the timer in the picture be changed?

If yes, is it a DIY job and what would be recommended to change it too?

Well rather than 'suggesting' why not actually tell us what it's controlling?

Immersion heater?
Central heating boiler?

Make/model would be useful

It is an old sangamo timer for a gas or oil boiler not Electric

Just googled them and still expensive!!

I just want something more manageable for programming different times for block days ie Mon to Fri and Sat to Sun if you know what I mean!

there are loads of cheap ones on the market, any single channel timeswitch will do, as long as it can handle 240v switching nearly all do
