Tap reviver kit question

Hi everyone

I want to replace the tap insert cartridges or whatever they are called on two sinks.

I have done some research and i'm confused by the different measurements.

These look the same as my current non ceramic ones, but iv'e read that you need to get tap head caps with the correct "spline" for the top of the insert and this and that and i don't know what to do, screw fix do a reviver KIT but it's not ceramic, it would be so much easier if i could just buy a ceramic reviver kit that comes with the tap head covers but i can't see one online.

I could buy two sets of the above link and source tap head covers elsewhere but it's a pain, rather just have a kit and get it done......

Any help would be great, thanks.

why do you want ceramic ones?

A "Tap Reviver" kit includs new knobs or capstans, which fit the splined spindles.

We had a dripping cold tap in the bathroom a year ago, we had a plumber out who replaced both inserts, im finding that the taps have to be turned off tighter and tighter as the months go on, ill straighten the tap heads and then month later you can visibly see that the tap heads are slanted because the taps need to be tightened more?
I'm guessing the washers are wearing out already? as i understand ceramic are better as you don't have washers in them?

Yes i know but they are not ceramic, none of them are?

wrong on both counts.

It might be that the tap bodies have worn-out or eroded valve seats.

Or it might be that the people in the house have got used to dripping taps, and turn them off with great force, which accelerates wear and damage.

A tap in good condition can be turned off with one finger, and won't drip.

Post some photos of your taps, please.

I'm not a plumber so i'm just going from what i have found online, whats the point of ceramic inserts if they are no better than the normal ones?

Ceramic inserts won't work if the tap seat is worn, you won't be able to turn the water off

If you use a tap reseating tool and replace the worn washers that might solve your problem , failing that new taps!

By the time you have fiddled with Tap reviver kits which dont really work , it is quicker and cheaper to buy a set of new taps and replace from a DIY shed , at least they are garanteed for a couple of years

Tried those tap repair/reviver kits. They don't work if the tap seats are heavily worn.

Put new taps on- if you have heavy handed users then lever taps work really well
