In the US protesters enter the Michigan State Capital with Guns

I honestly can't understand why these idiots think their freedom comes before their protection.
Oh that's right, they have guns so can protect themselves against anything and everything.
Must have very powerful telescopic sights on their guns to be able to spot a virus.

I'm certainly not anti-gun, or anti-American - far from it, but the ones in the photo are a special breed of Covidiots. They may have a legitimate gripe against the incompetence of politicans, not just their own, but worldwide. But do these rednecks think their guns will protect them from a deadly pathogen? Some people need to learn the lesson the hard way.

What point are they in ""ordinary" life?

The point is that, in their constitution, they may be necessary when life is not ordinary i.e. to fight against a tyrannical government, as part of an organised militia.
A decent idea in the days of single-shot muskets, where a repressed population could rise up against their oppressors.
However, an unforeseen consequence is the lackwit with a short fuse, "packing heat" while "rolling" around the mall.

Never gonna change though and, as it's 3000+ miles hence, best to just observe from a distance, and tut disapprovingly.(y)

I've had American colleagues visit the UK . People might think that they all think the USA is a wonderful country all over. They don't. ;) Some things they like such as the size of their food portions and their content - some things they don't like at all. Misuse of guns isn't unusual and other factors associated with the not so well off.

If I lived in the states I would want to own a gun.

The sale of guns to first time buyers/ owners has rocketed

concerns about law and order breaking down during this chinese flu caper has fuelled it

Telling Millions of Law biding Americans what measures they should/should not be allowed to take when endeavoring to protect their families will be met with the same hand gesture the English Archers displayed in yesteryear to the French.:giggle:

Hello notch, thanks for asking, I am trying keep out of Covid 19s clutches as my wife and I have little or no chance of surviving it.

I hope you and yours are also managing to swerve this virus.

Without wishing to appear to be pushing certain youtube virus related videos I would suggest Diynot contributors look up Dr John Campbell as recommended viewing, or in my case listening as I can listen whilst I work (at home mostly repairing my home}
