My wife has just chosen a brushed brass trap which has a 35mm brass pipe as it’s outlet. I need to convert that to 32mm plastic.

I can find a mcalpine converter, but the 35mm push fit side is chrome plated plastic when I just want normal plastic (it’ll be painted to make the plastic pipe work less visible). Anyone know where I can get an all plastic adaptor?

Thanks in advance.

What i'm not clear on, is the OD of 32mm push fit pipe. I'm aware that 32mm isn't the actual outside diameter, but what is?

Edit: a bit more googling seems to indicate that 32mm push fit pipe has an OD of 35mm and solvent weld has an OD of 36mm. In which case my 35mm brass waste pipe should fit a standard push fit fitting or a compression fitting which i would imagine would be compatible with both sizes of pipe.

Can anyone confirm if i've got that right?

Yes, much more leeway on a multifit fitting though.
Thanks for the confirmation.

I'd never realised there was a size difference between push fit and solvent weld pipe. Now i understand why it was such a difficult job getting the waste pipe to fit the push fit fittings i had when i did a temporary basin drain. I must have had solvent weld pipe.
