Hi.

I have a plasterer working on house his doing a full reskim. I agreed to put plasterers pre grit on wall. His done most of house. Except 1 area (a meter squared in hall ways seems to be developing cracks(he did that a few days ago)

Thankfully it’s only this area. He did mention it could be because I missed the spot when putting pre grit. I’m not too sure

what should I suggest to him to remediate.
Is it best to sand break off and easy fill? Or ask him to patch skim it. Thoughts? I want a reasonable solution for I and the plasterer

Photos of the cracking would be helpful.

Attached. Thankfully it’s a smal area

you or he failed to control the suction and the plaster looks too thin and has dried out too quickly.
you could wait for it to dry and paint it and hope for the best or scrape it all off and grit or pva it correctly and reskim it.

I was gonna take any loose bits off and easi fill it. Would this be a option?

it’s an option , why though if he’s still there?
out of curiosity how many coats is each wall having?

Given it’s a small area 1 meter swayed can we just rip up lose bits and pva it and he does that bit. I don’t fancy him doing all wall!
what’s his opinion? as a plasterer i’d rather leave you with a whole wall skimmed perfectly.

Its his job to control the suction (its a core plasterers skill) and get the finish right. He should put it right, not you.
