I know I can buy the same product again from Argos for £18 but as a DIYer, can I just buy the pole? Something like this perhaps :

or

Cheers.

Hey, I have one of those organisers - the poles are rusty now.
Let me know if it does work :)

Actually, thinking about it, I did get 1 section more than I needed so put it in the eaves somewhere, but its gonna be easier to buy a replacement than go exploring for it. :)

I have literally just finished the job. Had to go back and replace my pole to this one

You have to remove the smaller pole and then try to stick it into the bigger pole to identify which is the correct way in
( No naughty thoughts please ;) )
The rubber ends are also not interchangeable. I re-used the plastic trays and the rubber bands from my old Argos pole. On the newer pole, to prevent water damage that eventually leads to rust, I smudged on some vaseline at the lower section of the pole, as this is where the damage was on the other pole.

Sadly, this took me an hour.

But, hey ho, I saved £8 .... but, I spent £12 on takeway last night.
