I turned over some pine needles and there's this white stuff. Is it anything toxic I need to be careful of?

Anything to worry about breathing in?

sure, mould spores are a real irritant, especially if you suffer from allergies, hay fever or have a lung problem.
Although it is quite rare, aspergillosis can cause real issues.

wear a mask and dig the mould in. Spray with water to dampen the spores flying around.

Ok so two opinions.

I wore a mask on one occasion and other times I didn't. I transported some of it down the tip in back of my van in bags. Mixed in mostly with normal looking pine needles and soil. I tried not to disturb it too much or held my breath. I do suffer allergies but didn't feel anything strange. Hopefully be ok

I have had shortness of breath in the last year; and I do a lot of gardening . Never got to the bottom of why either then Corona vane along and my appointment with lung specialist was cancelled.

I have Wondered if there are certain plants i should wear a mask for if hedge cutting ( there's one specifically I know to wear a mask for) but often wondered what other bushes etc to look out for or other stuff in gardens to be careful of.

You breathe in millions of mould spores every day, especially in the summer.

I would imagine that everything you describe would not cause any significant issues, unless you were doing it every day for an extended period of time.
