Tier 4 travel rule question.

"To help contain the virus, everyone who can work effectively from home should do so.

Where people cannot do so - including, but not limited to, people who work in critical national infrastructure, construction, or manufacturing - they should continue to travel to their workplace. This is essential to keeping the country operating and supporting sectors and employers."

Get her to pay you 1p a day ;)

I'd say NO!
You are not to travel from tier 4 into other tier areas.
Stay at home.

But the government says different: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-4-stay-at-home

While you may think you will not meet others, consider what happens if you break down, need materials, become ill while at your daughters.

You can leave...if your job (or volunteering) involves working in other people's homes.

You may also leave to carry out activities related to buying, selling a residential property.

My daughter bought a house but is not living in it yet, it is now in tier 2 and we are in tier 4. Can we go to the house to do work ? We won't be going anywhere but the house and will see no one else.

Its down to Common Sense and ones conscience, which is sadly lacking throughout the Country during the Lock Downs ,
Is the work vitual and immediate or can it wait .

Just get on with it and be careful. It's not like the government take notice of their own ridiculous rules. Otherwise we sanction being told to live under house arrest for a virus that causes little harm to most of the population. Or do we have to stay at home for ever to avoid the sniffles or flu?

I would . nobody gives a monkeys any more. and who’s policing it?
they can’t even catch people driving on mobile phones let alone anything else.

Yep, it's getting silly now. The government will only have themselves to blame for people breaking stupid, ill conceived rules that constantly change and u-turn.. Although re. policing they're putting police on trains out of London to interrogate people about their journey and Sturgeon is policing the England/Scotland border. Looks like they may be able to find manpower for the police state, but obviously not for any real crimes.

It’s such a rollercoaster. On one hand highly amusing that grown adults can be totally reeled in on pie in the sky stories and statics . on the other hand annoying and depressing that people are so easily groomed by the authorities .
Easy to see how Hitler did it.

Out and about today, saw plenty of the 'reeled in' types walking through deserted suburban streets with their masks on - young and old. Couple with masks AND visors on. They've surrendered all common sense to the authorities. Jump! How high?

Too true. Come 1st Jan there will be zero excess deaths over and above the 5-year average. The 80,000* extras this year will be a distant memory. Until about May/June, when there might be another 40,000, or 50,000. Don't be reeled in folks, and whatever you do, don't be groomed by the authorities.

*ONS figures. Danger, they are, 'The Authorities'.
