Halstead Ace High Boiler - Pressure loss

Good Afternoon.

I have what I can only describe as an overflow pipe that leads out of the bottom of the boiler (seems to be connected to other pipes and leads out of the wall and terminates at 1st floor level through the wall outside. From this pipe I have developed a constant drip of water every second of so which is causing a loss of pressure in the boiler.
To keep the boiler running I have had to unscrew the water flow valve a touch just to keep a constant small flow of water into the boiler to maintain pressure.
Obviously after the permanent fix to this and want to know if its something I can do?

Thanks

Simon

1 replace pressure relief valve and
2 repressurise expansion vessel

Halstead Ace/Ace High PRV widely available at prices varying from £10-£50

It's a DIYable job if you're confident with draining and refilling the boiler and system
(I wouldn't trust the isolation valves on an elderly Halstead)

The Halstead Ace was never a great boiler (I meet very few working examples nowadays);
it might be time to replace.

Constant topping up as you are doing will accelerate corrosion of boiler and radiators.

Thanks for the advise. First of all I appreciate the boiler is an old model, but at the moment I'm not in a position financially to replace it.
I am of the same view that this is indeed a PRV issue.
I will purchase the part and try to source a registered plumber/heating engineer to fit.
Im assuming this will be a quick and easy job to do for the right person. Any advise of what the cost of fitting should be?

Thanks again
