The focus of this deal was always goods. Once we decided we did not want to be part of the four freedoms of movement of goods, services, capital and labour we needed to negotiate what we wanted most and that was free movement of goods (well there will be more friction and regulations ).

Maybe in 10 years time Frankfurt could elevate itself to that capability but it's extremely unlikely, in fact the Euro as a currency isn't likely to be around in 10 years.

EU will slowly change rules, at their own pace to nudge business over to be inside EU

And now UK has no say, it can't do a thing about it.

EU is developing its internal capital market to bring Euro trading in house.
