Right well after all that you have a Y plan system
Why would Tado think it was the gas valve ? they know didly squat about boilers

The Tado operates the mid position valve, the valve triggers the boiler not the Tado
What everyone is trying to tell you, is that the issue is not your boiler, but one of the associated controls.
No you said they told you it was the gas valve, not the same thing
Currently doing the same today (has been behaving) in that no hw. The light on the boiler is solid orange and I think that means no call for heat? I see the actuator in the airing cupboard shows hw light on.
What do we think? Actuator prob?

Possibly, certainly the first thing to be checked.
How longs a piece of string..
Might do.
Best to just change the valve and actuator head.
It might be the valve is sticky and burning out the actuator prematurely.
