It didn't appear to be speeded up to me, those walking are at normal speed. The bus was completely out of control.

He was lucky he knew nothing about the bus about to hit him so just bounced off like a rubber doll. If he saw it coming and tensed up for the 'hit' it could have been a lot worse for him.
