Issue installing oven / oven carcass

Hi,

I have just built up my oven unit, and put the oven in to see how it would work with the filler i have ben provided.

I am having the filler above the oven, because i'm having compressed laminate worktop (12.5mm thick), so need to allow a large enough gap above the oven, for the hob to fit.

I've installed the oven, resting straight ontop of the base of the carcass, and i would have epected that the filler panel would fit flush with the top of the carcass, where the worktop will sit?

Is it standard to have to cut a few mm off the filler panel to make it flush with top of carcass?

Secondly, as it's no back panel, the carcass seems very flimsy, is this also usually the case?

Filler panel goes below oven regardless of type of top.( you will be on your knees using oven set low down).
Unit needs securing to wall both sides or sometimes thin metal stretcher bar is fitted to top rear to add strength? Can’t have back to allow wiring and gas pipe entry .

But will there be enough depth / height above oven for the gas hob to fit flush into worktop?.

I am having a 12.5mm worktop, not a 40mm

Top of oven should be lower than front panel by enough to allow room for hob.

not sure i am clear on what you are saying. You suggested the oven has to go above filler panel regardless...

then suggested that top of oven should be lower than front filler panel to allow for hob.

This is what i'm trying to do, but top of filler panel is not lining up flush with top of cabinet.

Do i cut the filler panel by 5mm or so (see above pics) so that its flush with top of cabinet?

No, front control panel not infill panel.
