It’s cleaver of them to avoid an Mcb tripping though, by limiting the current draw and keep putting heat in where possible.

I think it could easily draw 65A if you turned everything on, as I tried, except the grill.

It's very rare to hear of 32A MCBs tripping even with very large cookers, and even when everything is switched on from cold.

Don't forget that even 46A will take around an hour to trip a B32, and it could tolerate much larger currents than that for shorter periods without tripping. I really don't think there is a problem.

I thought you said that the total was limited to 31A. Is that only the total for the rings, perhaps?

Yes if it didn't have a software limit, it could reach 65A
Fair enough, but even that would probably take around 3 minutes to trip a B32, and I doubt that such a high current would persist for that long.
