Greensill - Corruption at the heart of Government

A top civil servant joined financial firm Greensill Capital as an adviser while still working for the government, a lobbying watchdog has revealed.

Bill Crothers's part-time position had been "agreed" to by the Cabinet Office, the Office of the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments added.

Cameron was sending text messages to Rishi Sunak asking him if he couls loosen the requirements for Greensill to access loans but also access a loan itself. Greensill was closely involved with Gupta who is accused of using fraudulent invoices with Greensill to raise finance.

This is so fraudulent and disgusting- billions of tax payers money is lost.

This is what you get when a Government weakens the checks and balances. Shame on anyone who tried to defend this.

This pretty much will end Rishi chances of being PM. The man who loves to be in front of the camera was decidely absent when he failed to turn up to answer questions in the commons.

As to the man leading the inquiry.

The man investigating why the chancellor pushed his team to give Greensill Capital access to the CCFF works for the law firm that advised the Treasury on the CCFF.

What's slightly more grating is that not even one apology, it's clearly unethical but "within the rules" I'd have thought Cameron would have said it was a bad judgement, but nope, just insists it wasn't technically illegal

I think it's a shame Starmer has the perpetual look of a rabbit in headlights.

99% of the time Johnson answers 0 questions.

Does beg the question though, if brexit was such an easily demonstrable s**tshower, why didn't the remain camp do a better job of demonstrating all of the downsides. After all there were pretty evenly split leave and remain factions in both Labour and Conservative.

Simples

Because it's far easier to sell emotive slogans than boring detail on the benefits of the Single Market.

Add in the decades of gaslighting by the media
Add in the many years of successive governments using the EU as a scapegoat for domestic political failures
Add in the easily sold blaming of immigrants
Add in the huge complexity of the issues

And you get a referendum campaign that is easily manipulated.


I think we all know referendums are bad.

I don't think it would helped if the vote was a narrow win for remain....the division would've been just as bad, if not worse.
