Every couple of years I break my spade shaft. I did oil this one when I first got it. I am a bit heavy with the digging etc. Is there a stronger replacement shaft. Fibreglass maybe?

Try and buy an old one from a bootsale etc - a genuine Spear and Jackson - not a sleer and jaclon from China

I had an 'unbreakable carbon fibre' one for about 3 years. Didn't use it a great deal and use it even less now that I have broken it. :(

Spear and Jackson do a "never bend" range you could try?
I managed to bend one of their garden forks ! Couldn't remember when/where I bought it, or I would have returned it for a refund.

I use a Bulldog yellow shafted one, best in the business, I call it Excalibur.
