Height of fence post

What length wooden fence post would I require for a 0.9 meter fence height with a 0.3 meter trellis?
Post would be 0.75mm x 0.75mm so I'm thinking it will need to be 1.2m + 600mm = 1.8 meter post required?

Gravel boards are sacrificial. Cheap, and if they rot, replace rather than the fence panel.
You can get non wood ones so they don't rot

They reduce/prevent rot to the bottom of fence panel, can be treated timber or concrete.

bearing in mind that a wooden fencepost will rot, and you will find it is a terrible job digging out the remains and the lump of concrete.

After doing that once, I resolved to use concrete posts or spurs thereafter.

btw, leave a hole about 200mm square for friendly wildlife, on both sides of the garden, in the corners, and by your compost heap, and behind the shed, and under the gate.

Always worth fitting something, to prevent the bottom edge of the fence sitting on the soil. Bricks or shallow concrete panels will do it - anything which will not rot or absorb moisture.
