Hot water cylinder Jacket Filling

Hi the jacket on our hot water cylinder has split and I am concerned about the filling. Is this fibreglass? Thank you

A roll of Duct tape or similar will repair it .

yeah and don't wear short sleeves or shorts, otherwise it's the uber-itch

exactly the same as Rockwool insulation, makes you itch and some come out with blisters, but its not asbestos, personally I detest the stuff

I don't like it either, but it's not as bad as it was. I used glassfibre insulation in about 1980 and it was horrible, raw arms, itchy eyes etc, but it worked well in warming my middle son's bedroom. Stuff I've used recently is like cotton wool by comparison.
