How to skim over fresh plaster?

Hi guys.
Recently plastered a wall but its pants. Trowel marks galore so i want to re-skim it.
Ive never skimmed fresh plaster. What prep should i do. Just Pva?

Yes pva and skim when it goes tacky.

Cheers, what ratio would you mix the PVA? Would 1 coat of plaster suffice or should i 2 coat again?

Indeed. Appreciate for your support. I signed up to the plastering forum a while back but all they do is rinse people trying to learn. Determined to crack plastering. Did a wall yesterday combining a sponge float, speed skim and refina superflex. It is still drying but it looked much better. Minimal defects and the superflex really helped me push trowel marks out without creating more.
