65” Samsung led tv.(about 2 years old)
Volume does not always adjust, sticks at current volume , leave a few minutes then responds normally, few more minutes and it may stick again. New batteries in remote. Reset audio. Still a problem.
If audio is frozen and I mute it will not then unmute .?

Are there physical buttons on the TV? Does it respond properly to those?
That would be my first line of fault finding.
If it's a smart TV, the Samsung smarthings app can control it.
If it responds in the same way with app and buttons, it may be a firmware fault.
I have had a TV misbehave with audio before, but that would randomly turn up the volume! The physical buttons we're sticking and overrid any remote input. Disconnecting the buttons solved the issue.
Good luck!

Do you have a model number?
Replacement remotes aren't normally too costly and universal remotes are only a few pound on Amazon.
However, it still may be a firmware issue.

Does it do it all the time or just now and then? As mentioned a replacement remote control wiIl eliminate that if it's not the problem, it can always be returned if it's not the issue so no outlay really. I'd hazard it's just crap software, everything's made to a budget these days, our Sony TV was shocking for about the first two years, needing to be switched off at the mains at least twice a week after it locked up in numerous different scenarios, then it miraculously had a software update and it only locks up about once a month now. A lot better but still crap, I think we're on our 3rd remote but then my dopey kids are forever dropping them on hard floors so I just always have a spare now.
/sigh

Don't some Samsung TVs and some other brands have advertisement's amongst the interface nowadays too?

Sounds like you've exhausted most possibilities.
If you want to keep the TV, I'd invest in a sound bar or AV amp. The sound quality will be vastly superior and any sound issues with the TV won't matter.

If it is only 2 years old, have you tried to contact Samsung? Even if it is over their 24 month warranty, you are afforded up to 6 years under UK law. Your contract is with the seller rather than Samsung but they, Samsung, don't want resellers refusing to sell their products because those resellers are worried about being sued.

Discovered one of my cousins is a Samsung tv engineer so he is going to give me engineer reset info .
