............... it's not just about a virus. It's about curtailing your freedoms, modifying your life. But the lemmings called me and a couple of others 'nutters' as we tried to warn you about unthinkingly abandoning your freedoms for the common good (isn't it always for the common good?).

Well, get used to the new normal, annual hols in damp Southend or Weymouth.

Your horizons have just been lowered, and you actually wanted it to happen.

Replace virus with brexit and you'll have an understanding of how remainers feel.
Except, one day the virus will be gone.

The virus is causing inflation in many areas - food, materials, holidays etc and all supply and demand driven. I don't believe it's a conspiracy to kill off cheap travel, dining and building, it's just companies trying to survive. Prices must go up to cover overheads.

"The latest victims are Britons on holiday in Mexico who, from 4am on Sunday, will be obliged to pay £2,285 each for hotel quarantine on their return – that country having suddenly been added to the red list".

I have absolutely no sympathy in the current Covid climate for those idiots that rush off to such places the minute restrictions are lifted and then get caught out when things change. None. At. All.

Changing behaviours is not curtailing freedoms, but if you're happy with keeping air travel as busy as it was world wide, what do you think the impact will be?
There are many sources of greenhouse gases, but transport is one of the biggest.

WARNING! Yet another covid conspiracy theory, to add to the many.

HMG advice for Mexico is 'Essential Travel Only' and has been for months - since when has a holiday been essential?

Any holiday abroad is a risk that really is not worth taking.

Good boys! The conditioning is working. (y)

I hope those who are hook line and sinker for the 'climate emergency' (yes - shock horror, I used apostrophes) are using push bikes and electric scooters, not those nasty petrol or diesel cars. And don't even think about turning the gas boiler on.

It’s good there are people booking holidays and getting the industry going, but they shouldn’t complain when it goes wrong.
