New skirtings, door facings whats the best way to finish these

The above woodwork is all pre primed on purchase.

I have filler for the nail holes, then a sand...whats next?

Primer and undercoat, then saintwood finish?
Or
Undercoat then final satinwood finish?
Or
Straight to final satinwood finish?

Primer, undercoat and 2 coats of satinwood.
If using a combined primer/undercoat, do 2 coats.

If they come pre primed, what is the reason for primer again? Do you mean spot prime just the sanded area's?

Its been about 6 years since I did this but I cant recalled doing primer, undercoat and then Satinwood.

You need to re prime because when you sand nail holes you'll go down to bare wood when sanding. Also most doors end up with bare wood when fitting furniture or plaining to fit frame!

So re prime the whole board not just spot prime where the nails have been filled and sanded

Is a primer/undercoat combo paint ok or better to get individual primer and undercoat?

I always use the acrylic Leyland primer/undercoat. It saves so much time being water based. I'd also do the whole boards again rather than spot prime as you'll know the bottom coat is all the same then.

Yeah thats what I was meaning by spot priming

I've turned up to jobs where someone has spot primed and there's just blobs of primer on the nail holes. Almost like filler and it then needs sanding again.
One of the worst things also is when you turn up for a job and they've blobbed 20 different colour pots on the wall and without sanding them down you know they'll be showing through the paint!

Had another question on this.

The gaps between skirting boards and wall I will fill with Chaulk. What about joints in the corners, or joints on the straights...whats best Chaulk or filler?
