Hi,
I need to mount an awning on a brick wall that has been pebbledashed.
I have attached a pic of one of the two brackets. They are mounted vertically as opposed to horizontally as shown, using expander bolts.
The weight of the awning is 20k
Do you think I can fix the brackets directly onto the pebbledash, or should I chisel out a flat area so the brackets will fit flush against the wall, or...?

Cheers.

No need to take it back to the wall - chisel away enough of the dash so that the brackets sit flat and true, but drill deep enough so that the fixings are in the wall rather than in the render.

No need to remove dashing , bracket is large enough to sit squarely in the wall and as it just holds a cable won’t matter if it’s not.

No.

It will matter greatly if it is misaligned or twisted.
