Beer shortages at Wetherspoon as Brexit and Covid hit supply chains

"Brexit-backing Wetherspoon has become the latest business to be hit by supply chain issues as the pub giant faces shortages of popular beer brands.

Carling and Coors are unavailable in some branches as supermarkets, pubs and restaurants continue to be plagued by supply problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic and a lack of lorry drivers in the wake of the UK’s exit from the EU."

Which comes at the same time as...

"The chief executive of high street retail giant Next has blamed the government’s “insane” immigration policy for the huge shortage of lorry drivers causing chaos in Britain’s supply chain.

Lord Wolfson – a Conservative peer and Brexit supporter – called on the Home Office to change the rules to allow more heavy-goods vehicle (HGV) drivers to work in the UK amid ongoing shortages and disruption."

The problems with brexit were very obvious from the start...

I wonder how long it will take (and what it will take) before the common rabid brexiteers come to realise the terrible mistake they've made?

Mottie doesn't care how much the nation is damaged.

Doesn't like that to be mentioned.

The more the country suffers, the less he likes being reminded.

Lol. Nation damaged. A bloke worth over £450 million quid can’t sell some beer for a while. You can remind me all you like, we all know how you get your rocks off. Anyway, don’t you know that you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs. I’ll be reminding you of the good us Brexers did the country in the long term. You in between driving and peeping duties John? Time on your hands?

I'm certainly glad we've had the last twelve months Transition Period to get everything up and running, instead of having to finish all the arrangements the morning after Leave Day.

More than five years now since the vote, and Brexers still can't agree what they want.

Rees-Mogg thinks we should be over the worst in 50 years.

He very wisely set up business in Republic of Ireland so he can still trade inside the EU.

Typical Brexer.

I'm sorry you can't read.

Get someone to tell you what the eighth word above says.

How about this one:

He very wisely set up business in Republic of Ireland so he can still trade inside the EU.

Are you going to try to deny it?

5 years???Since the country left?? Surely not...
And get your facts right. Is his HQ in the republic of Ireland??, no.
Proving that you are a total arse again...
Not what he said, try reading it again

I went to the NEC commercial vehicle show
today....

Dead. The only European manufacturer there was Vauxhall. Not really worth the effort. The shopping center acroos the was like one of those Asian malls. No foot fall.

Expecting Coventry to be like a ghost town (there's a joke in there. Can anyone spot it) (well a kind of joke)
But it's surprising busy. Out tonight ..the bars and pubs are empty apart from Witherspoons. But the restaurants are busy...
