I'll tell you.

Wendy is a now popular name

Unusually, it did not exist, until Barrie introduced it in 1904 in his stage play "Peter Pan"

Which was a tremendous hit.

When he graduated from Edinburgh University and moved to London, he took lodgings in a street that happened to be behind GOSH.

In 1929, he gave the rights to the royalties from his play to GOSH.

Barrie died in 1937. At the time, copyright in the UK extended to 50 years after the author's death

However, ex-Prime Minister Callaghan sponsored a Bill to amend the law so that the copyright in the Peter Pan play and derivatives would never expire, so GOSH receives the royalties in perpetuity. This is unique in Britain.

This law does not apply to performances and copyright in other countries.

AN interim one then
What is the dot and dash telemetry system which has variable length gaps between the dots/dashes for individual letters.

I lay in bed asked Mrs Bod and she said Peter Pan... I then come up with that exact answer. But I was too late and no one would believe me.

Morse code

"variable length gaps between the dots/dashes for individual letters"

so just to illustrate;
if __ is a silent period of fixed length

| dot | __ | dot | __ | dash |

would be distinct from

| dot | __ | __ | dot | __ | dash |

I'm guessing that it's a code that was used prior to Morse being adopted as the international standard.

No idea what though

There hasn't been a correct answer yet. I don't know why, it's easy to find. It has two, alternative, adequate names.
