EU tells Macron to wind his neck in

Yes.

Read this link.

ah ok, so you are being totally dishonest

that’s to do with Ireland being a tax haven, it doesn’t imply nor prove the figures I’ve quoted are wrong.

It’s eating you up inside that the Brexit you voted for has meant NI is now importing far more from RoI than from GB…..so much so, it’s driving you to use any old dishonest argument to deny the truth.

shame on you….you are lying to yourself.

You are at again Notchy.
Those "statistics" are from the Irish central office of statistics.
These are same people who claimed that the Irish economy grew by 36% in a single year

dishonest conflation.

Basket case would be more appropriate.
Where you get these fantasy facts from

dishonest conflation

Macron's already hopping mad because the EU have softened their stance on the NI protocol and will table new proposals in the next two weeks

it seems the Express is lying as usual

“The EU's Brexit negotiator has told a seminar in Dublin that there will be no renegotiation of the Northern Ireland Protocol and that the EU will not accept any solution that will cut the region off from the benefits of the single market.

Speaking to the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) today, Maroš Šefčovič said the EU would continue to work to find practical solutions to make the protocol "work on the ground”

Those "statistics" are from the Irish central office of statistics.

Their facts are contradicted by the figures given by the UK.
Yes, the figures quoted in Notch7's link are from RoI. But they are not disputed by the UK Government web site that presented those figures.
If the UK Government had an inkling that the figures were not correct, I'm sure they would have said so.

And of course, we all know that the EU never renegotiates anything don’t we…..

I think you are conflating renegotiation with unilateral action.
If both parties to an agreement are prepared to renegotiate that agreement, there is no reason why it should not be renegotiated.
Whereas unilateral action is an action by one party without the agreement of the other party.

And of course, we all know that the EU never renegotiates anything don’t we…..
A bit of bland ambiguous statement which could apply to all international treaties/trade agreements etc.
The thing is we negotiated the Irish thing agreed it and ratified it. No good stamping your feet and throwing the teddy out because you didn't read and understand what you negotiated and agreed to and don't like it anymore.
It's not as if the EU hasn't been patient.

Because the protocol is protecting Northern Ireland from Brexit supply chain chaos.

The reason Bozza and co want to tear up the NI protocol is because it makes Brexit look bad - which of course it is. NI still has access to Single Market, so they don't suffer the shortages we do. They had no fuel shortages and don't have any food shortages, etc, because they were easily able to change from doing business with Uk to Ireland. It's that old frictionless trade chestnut.

Also, the 'government' are worried that huge volumes of UK>NI trade are being lost, as NI is now buying much more from Ireland.

Some did predict this. Project Fear is now Project Here.

Johnson negotiated and agreed the NI agreement and committed the UK to it.

Remember "get Brexit done?"

Remember "oven ready deal?"

The fact that he is an incompetent man and didn't care about NI or breaking up the UK is a problem for Brexers.

It has always been impossible for Brexers to deliver what they promised

This is not a surprise.

Exports from the Irish Republic to Northern Ireland rose by 40% to almost €1.6bn over the same period, reflecting increased cross-border trade since Brexit as the region effectively remained in the EU’s single market for goods

40% eh (y)

Brexit is great

for the EU.

Not so great for us. :(

checks at the border.

Businesses still have to complete customs declarations, transit documents etc……you know that massive Brexit red tape.

Saw a news item about a lorry driver taking lorry load of doughnuts (no not Brexers) from UK to Germany. Before they left here, they had to get a vet in to inspect them because they had cream in them. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

We're becoming uncompetetive because of the extra red tape of Brexit and the aggro of traversing The Channel with all the extra bureaucracy. Red tape the Tories 'promised' would be reduced after Brexit - instead it has massively increased.

Had to laugh that a vet who studied hard for 5 years ends up checking doughnuts.

You are the one who is being dishonest, the link i quoted set out in detail why the Irish central office of statistics cannot be relied on to give out accurate information.
The author of the piece in the link was Paul Krugman a Nobel prize winning economist, he is neither Irish or British, so he can't be accused of bias.
He basically said that any economic statistics quoted by the Irish government are ******.

If the UK Government had an inkling that the figures were not correct, I'm sure they would have said so.
Has the UK government confirmed that these figures from the Irish are correct.

You sure? Not a problem for me. I voted Brexit. I voted Tory. You are the one, day in, day out, on this forum, moaning like a whore with a 20kilowatt PA system.
