“Those comments are very alarming because that would indicate that this is a government administration that acted in bad faith,” Varadkar said. “And that message needs to be heard around the world, because if the British government doesn’t honour its agreements, doesn’t adhere to treaties it signs, that must apply to everyone else too.

“So at the moment they’re going around the world they are trying to negotiate new trade agreements. The message must go out to all countries around the world that this is a British government that doesn’t necessarily keep its word, doesn’t necessarily honour the agreements it makes.”

Lies don't matter. Torybots are a forgiving and docile bunch.

The next few governments will have a hard hill to climb if they are to rebuild Britain's reputation.

No, they will be Tory Governments and they will be forgiven. The greatest trick the Tories ever played was to convice people they were never in power.

Petrol crisis- blame the Media.
Coronavirus crisis - blame the NHS and GPs.
Brexit crisis - blame the EU

It goes on and the Torybots on here will just lap it up.

Not by the rest of the world.

Would you buy a trade treaty off this man?

The treaty he gets doesn't matter, the public do not do detail. They can sign a treaty, get the positive news and then renege and he can sell it as the other side being unfair. The media goes along with this charade.

The Tories will always find someone knew to blame and their supporters are always eager to join in. It's the Republican playbook, the will deify corporates and businessmen.

Are you claiming that Cummings is an honest man and everything he says is true.

Looks like the N. I. Protocol is going to get ditched.
Of course with the Tories it what they do and not what they say that counts.

The facts speak for themselves. Why does Frost and Bojo need to renegotiate an agreement which they themselves negotiated.

Cummings view only confirms what is already fact.

So now the criticism of Cummings is that he is a liar but somehow that same criticism does not apply to Bojo?

Cognitive dissonance or hypocrisy, you take your pick.

What facts?
The only fact i can see is the fact that this protocol is producing the outcome it was designed to prevent.

I think the Irish PM is just trying to find reasons to make a noise and get heard. Ultimately I think the U.K. an EU will come up with something better. Quoting Cummings is fairly desperate when looking for a source. The Irish PM thought his country would replace the U.K. as the English speaking EU hub. Tbh I thought they’d do better, so far however there seem to be more services repatriated to the U.K. than to Ireland .

I don't see a land border in Ireland. So it isn't failing.

When do governments around the world ever fully stick to plans, strategies, agreements or manifesto pledges?

Regardless of what is/isn't true here, is anyone really surprised if some things around this and the wider Brexit process deviate from what was agreed?

Only the remainers and non-Tory voters, apparently.
