Hi

In the kitchen, above the microwave is a 150mm high door. It's top hinged using flush hinges (cabinets are face frame).

Can you suggest something to hold open the door? I've tried a 110mm gas strut and a Hafele lid stay (Art. no. 366.40.767) but both foul the bottom of the cabinet during opening.

Thanks

That's 15cm long, so likely too big. If it does fit, will that actually hold the door open or is it just to prevent over opening?

It's 15cm on opening (on the diagonal).
So a closed size of 8cm should be ok for your cupboard.

Theoretically, the stay works when lifting the door slightly beyond 90 degrees; the tab on one bar then falls into the notch on the other and locks in place, holding the door open.
To release, you just lift the door slightly again, which releases the tab.

This is a very simple solution, but the one shown in the link I posted doesn't seem to have any fittings included. There are probably better ones available!

Something like this may be more suitable :) :

It worked (well sort of). The hinge was fouling the door so I had to mount it much further back on a not terribly asthetic block! Your help is appreciated.

I'm glad it (sort of) worked! :)
Sorry it's not perfect.

And thanks for letting me know :)
