I have a plastered in double back box Uk size but wish to use a us sized smart double switch. Are there any inserts/frames available to convert the one size to another?

I'll be candid and say I doubt it, US plates are 4½" tall, UK are 3½" back boxes are 3¾" tall UK are 3⅛. Also most things designed for US are based on a 2" deep box (50mm)

I can't even begin to count the number of times I've had to replace incorrect boxes in my AV work.

I have to ask why you buried the incorrect size?

From that linked site I find this:

None of those dimensions APPEAR to be US box size.
A standard US 1g, 2g & 3g gang plate is: 114mm high x 70, 114 & 158mm wide,
Suitable standard US boxes seems to be: 94mm high x 56, 103 & 148mm wide.

However a UK 2G back box is 75mm high x 135mm wide.

I'm guessing those 120 x 74mm dimensions are an oversized US 1G plate but I'm guessing. If that is the case I think you'll end up with a UK 2g blanking plate and cut a hole to accept the module. It won't be a looker though.

If your other switches/sockets are not white, ie brushed metal etc, you may get away with it.

Thanks, I originally had a double plated 3 gang Uk switch there. Wanted a zigbee one to work with googlehome.
