Perimeter wall wallplate loose

Another issue I've encountered during renovation of my suspended timber floor.

The wallplate on the perimeter wall that the joists rest on is loose. Not completely but when bouncing up and down I can see that the joists are attached to the wallplate and it is the wallplate that is moving.



I'm thinking the easiest solution would be to use wall straps to firmly attach the wallplate to the brick work. I'll repeat this for all the perimeter and dwarf walls as a preventative measure.

I'm not a builder so I'm here for advice on specifics about which wall straps to use and fixings etc. I want to do it right so the floor doesn't have to come up again.

You should be more concerned with that damp on the plate, (and joist?) and not worry about strapping down the wall plates that don't need strapping down.

I had just removed the rad that the pipe was connected to. Water was spilt in the process.

Anyone able to comment on securing the wallplate?
