Omicron variant caught a cold

I'm not sure if there's sarcasm in there or not, but this is roughly what we'd expect for Delta cases. For Delta only 1.5% of infections lead to hospitalisation now.
Our first cases were detected on the 26th, which is just over two weeks ago. Give it a week and we should see if there is a matching doubling of hospital admissions with Omicron every 3 days or not.
If this new variant is supposed to be more infectious than previous varients, then any subsequent lockdown will need to be more severe to prevent spread.
Will the public put with a more severe lockdown than they have previously experienced.

previous lockdowns were back before the majority of the people were vaccinated, the only unjabbed now are the nutters ( and those for medical reasons)

No, widespread cases alone won't give the public grounds to support a lockdown. It depends on hospital strain, and probably (looks like) to a lesser extent, deaths.
Somewhere between "So what if we all get a cold", and "Ohmigawd, we're all gonna die".
The scope of unknowns is still pretty wide.
Take a lot of precautions, but after that - what?
There may be a point where the spectre of hospitals being overwhelmed provokes thoughts of another lockdown, but it isn't with us yet.
From where we are it's hard to tell whether it ever will, or we'll be overwhelmed in so short a period that we won't have time to affect it.
Meanwhile, relaying any figures, observations and discoveries to this forum is very acceptable I'd have thought.
Individual doctors' opinions are all very well, but they're all over the shop, varying in their degree of super-cautiousness like previous waves.
Just because they're doctors doesn't means they have common sense.
I suspect we're all getting tired of some of the silly words people are using, though.

I have had coronavirus.
I picked up my daughter, her husband and her new born baby from the airport last November.,i didn't feel well that day but i went to the airport anyway.
3 days later my daughter and family all fell ill, they all tested positive for covid,
I got tested and i was positive as well, my wife (for some reason she was never affected by Covid) blamed me for causing the family to contract Coronavirus, i am now banned from frequenting Wetherspoons until this so called pandemic is over.
Personally, if you take reasonable precautions, then life should go on.
