Hello,
I am attempting to install Hive myself because British Gas messed me about , I watched all of the you tube videos and had a go at the weekend. I was happy to find that the Drayton controller I have had identical wire configuration to the Hive controller. The Hive controller even fits the back plate for the Drayton. I powered the isolator back up and the Hive started blinking as it should and when I pushed the Hot water button this stayed on a solid green light as it should, the only problem being the boiler is not triggered. I tried the same with the heating and linked my new thermostat to the controller but still no trigger.
I have attached a photo of the wiring of the backplate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps I have already tried removing the permanent live to position 2 as someone on you tube had advised but still the same.
Thanks
Paul

Have you tried removing the link altogether? No links are required in a dual channel Hive.

Hi, yes removed the link, no change . Removed the off position 1 wire and the hot water green light comes on as soon as you turn the isolator on.

Was the hot water off in place on the Honeywell? I’m surmising you have a 3 port mid position valve?

Yes, the wiring is as what works with the Drayton controller. I will remove the controller tonight and upload a photo of the back for connection detail’s.not sure what a 3 port mid position valve is?

Hi I have added photos for the Honeywell controller and the back plate for the Hive controller.
It’s not a Honeywell, it’s a Drayton, but doesn’t really matter. Did you setup the Hive as a gravity system or pumped?

Sorry , you are right its a Drayton controller. When I did my research I needed a Hive unit for a separate hot water tank, no where
have I seen the option to set up as Gravity system or pumped? My system is gravity fed.

Thanks for your help, I think I got confused about the pump and gravity. Yes my system has a pump near the hot water tank. Everyone says this is so easy, maybe my hive unit is faulty?

maybe my hive unit is faulty?
Possibility if the Drayton still works, unless you’ve set the Hive up as a gravity system? Are you able to reset so you can go through the menu again?

Thanks for your help, turns out my old thermostat was stopping the boiler from firing, I need to take it out of the circuit. But it all seems to be working now. Thanks again.
