This is a huge show of support for Ukraine, so well done Mr Johnson, I support it fully. (even though it was done for self interest)

We (the west) are gradually providing more kit, hopefully even more than is visible.

Blup

I seriously hope NATO, USA and Europe all step up to the plate.

There is just a 2 or 3 week window for Ukraine to stop Russia regrouping in the South East.

miss that opportunity and the resulting war of attrition could go on for years

Given that the invasion effectively started in 2014 who knows how long it can last. It's certainly highlighting the geopolitical dependence of trade on resources, you can't touch me because you need my gas/oil kind of thing. Sadly I also think Ukraine is being used as a pawn in the game of setting a new world order, China, India, Pakistan and several others are carefully setting themselves on one side of the fence whilst the rest of the world sets itself up on the other.

One thing is for certain, the sanctions are going to push us not into a global recession, but a global depression, who benefits from that?
China are desperate to push America into 2nd place as the worlds biggest economy, but if in doing that they reduce the rest of the world to poverty, they've lost their market. How does that work?

The Ukraine/Russian war is terrible, it's a horrible thing, it's a tragic waste of life. But, I can't help feeling that there are things going on in the background far worse, we are pawns in a very big game.

In the meantime, we wait with baited breath to hear whether or not Boris gets a fixed penalty fine for having a glass of wine and a slice of birthday cake after work.

**** me.

Ra Ra Boris.
But
How long for?
If the west pump weapons in, Putin blows them up - from his side of the border if he chooses. Z comes back to Boris & Co in a couple of months asking for more?

Russia's plan is clearly to keep the land it has taken and call that its goal. Plan A was to topple the Ukrainian government, or get some sort of surrender, that failed.

I have several problems with the information that the highest political office of Great Britain, the Prime Minister, visited a hot warzone.

Exactly. We shouldn't get involved in any way, we've lost enough to foreign countries at the expense of our own people for too long. Anyone wanting to "help" Ukraine should go over and do something himself as an individual.

Also, don't believe what the news services are telling you about this war. Also, it's Kiev not Kyiv.

Utter ******.
That's like calling London "Londres", because the country to our East calls it that.

Eh?

We in Britain have called it Kiev for at least as long as I've been alive. The alternative "Kyiv" has only come along in the last few weeks.

it's Kiev not Kyiv

Kiev is the Russian spelling, but the country has been an independent sovereign nation for about 30 years and the Ukraine spelling is Kyiv.

Unless you consider Ukraine to be part of Russia……
