Hey guys

I am at the roof stage with my extension - Roof joists are in and i am just after some advice about how the warm roof terminates into the gutter and how it goes across the wall thresh hold

I have put some images together of my thoughts, maybe they will all work but just wanted some advice

I kinda want keep the facia board as small as possible

Posted before and got some great help, so thanks in advance again!

You'll need to extend the wall higher than the bottom of the joists to achieve a slimmer fascia, and carry the effect around the roof sides too.

Basically yes.

In practical terms the roof still sits on the internal leaf, and only the outer is extended up.

@noseall how have you got the angle on the edge of the roof? Is it insulation cut to an angle, or ply fixed somehow to create the angle, or something else? I want to do the same, but not sure the best way to achieve it.

Thanks
Tim

Don’t forget your roof trim at the gutter will depend on the roof membrane, GRP has a different drip edge to EPDM and it’s best to set out the roof to suit. For GRP, I’ve found it’s necessary to put a shallow rebate on the edge of the deck board to ensure the roof doesn’t end up with a bit of high spot.

That's weird.

And the waste boxing in the dining room too. o_O
The waste thing didn't happen that way. By sheer chance, we located an IC on the side lawn when we backed a delivery lorry down and he popped the cast iron lid. It ended up in a completely different direction thank the Lord.

Is that leaking from the junction?
No.

It was repeatedly tested before the stack was built, upon my insistence as it was me that put the horizontal in as well as a glued boss at the other end.

The (proposed) connection at the bottom onto the domestic foul was even more tenuous as it involved digging a hole in the existing kitchen floor and tunnelling through the wall. Thank fudge the lorry broke that buried lid. It was discovered very late into the job too. PHEW!
