Filling hole with expanding foam

Wanted to fill this big hole in one hit so used expanding foam then cut it off to wall edge then pushed into hole then filled on top with filler. I guess this is the best way.

How you clean foam canister so it doesn't get all blocked up?

Does the householder know that you are asking questions on how to carry out work in their house???

Also, those pipes should of being cut back and not a dead leg. (Soldered might have being a better option.)

Isn't there an issue with push fit connection being encapsulated and not being allowed to move meaning that they can't seal after a change in pressure and leak? I know they're not allowed to install them behind plasterboard on new builds for risk of them being encapsulated in plasterboard adhesive.
 
After use If you immediately dribble lighter fuel in the nozzle it cleans out all the live foam .
